This Week’s Blog Theme : Dimensions to the 9.am-5pm: Having a Flexible work Style

There are many dimensions to what you may wear to work. If you work in a space where a creative attired isn’t the energy of the environment, at times it may feel like you have to sacrifice your sense of style to expressive conservativeness. But I say, test yourself by fusing your expressive side with your business ways. To insert your style into a more conservative wardrobe, it's best to do so subtly. You can start with your accessories; then occasionally switch it up to incorporate more noticeable pieces. Getting dressed for work shouldn’t be a hassle. Though it’s easier said than done, it better to work with the items you have. Mix and match what works for you! This week, I look forward to sharing my flexible work Style with you all :-) Feel free to share what do you wear to work?

Shady Style

What I love about summertime is wearing bright colors, patterns and textures. It's is always fun to play around with seasonal colors as well as unsualy ones.

Somedays, I'll pick a particular color then accessorize by adding different shades of that color to accent the desired style.
I'm very fond of blue, so heres my take on shading ...

The Convertible Skirt…

This dress is comfortable, breathable, and moderate in its fit. I adore this throw on and go summer dress because it’s the perfect style to pair with flats... For is for the days you anticipate are going to be hectic, but still would like to be trendy and comfortable.

The best thing about this dress is its convertibility. The designer created adjustable, yet unnoticeable, ties underneath the skirt that allows you to adjust its layers.  So, with a slight adjustment you could alter the dress, or in my words, “jazz it up a bit”.
To accommodate the summer sunshine, I paired it with a yellow cardigan and emerald green ballet flats.
This getup was inspired by my bargain-buy from Khols Vera Wang earrings.

Mixing Seasons

Winter has come and gone; thank goodness that Spring is here!  I am excited for the change in the season, but this usually means time to change over your wardrobe.

With the random spikes and falls in the weather lately,  it's made things unpredictable and little more challenging to find something to wear. This Spring looks to will be a bit finicky .

Over time I've found that there are many ways to incorporate my winter gear into my spring wear.

Here's one way i like to mix my seasons ...

Autumn Dress

….the sister- friend of the Maxi dress

Us girls love our Maxi dresses; and even more so during our summer and spring days. But when the fall season rolls around , we reluctantly put them away with all the rest of our super cute summer sundresses.

What I have found to be useful in purchasing a Maxi dress, is considering its multiple purpose styling options.
Can it can cross over into the genre of seasons?

Typical most Maxi dresses are multicolored and vibrant, giving its appeal for the cooler and hotter days of the year. However, if you make a note to own a maxi dress(s) that is a vibrant, solid in color, and complimentary to the bust, you can easily recycled them in to your wardrobe for the fall season. I joking like to referrer to this fashion adjustment as the Autumn dress…the sister- friend of the Maxi dress.

Here is my take of few alternations you can make to your Maxi dress to incorporate into your winter wear.

Orange maxi dress: Target
Brown cotton tee: H&M
Green Scarf: 5 Below
Brown wedge: Bakers
Jean Jacket: made by a friend…

Navy Blue Maxi dress: Old Navy
Black & Gray Sweater: H&M
Black knew boots: BGBG

Tip: Simple &  quick adjustments to your dress can change your look completely.

Turn your dress into a Skirt ... add a large statement piece ... Tie a knot in any of your long dress .... It’s the little things that matter ;-)

Cover Girl

Cover-ed-up girl

On of the most appealing attribute of a woman it to be comfortable and elegant in how she feels about herself, and how she shares that with the world.

Women have struggled with the idealism that power is only demonstrated in two ways, but we have grown to believe and live that Our power lies within. There is an abundance of beauty in the illusion of attraction without exposure.

To take a note out of the history books, in the 16th Century, just the slight relieve of a woman décolletage was striking.  The consequently décolletage was an aspect of a woman’s fashion.  One of the most charming looks is to be completely covered and still feel chic and graceful in your own right.

Radiate Your beauty and power that lies within. The treasure of life is to discover and share who YOU are with the world.

Walk the Talk 2012 Event

What a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon,  walking and talking about personal style. Invited by fellow bloggers, the event brought bloggers and fashion insiders together to network and share knowledge. The crowd was lively and colorful. The Walk the talk 2012 event on Saturday afternoon was hosted by Young Hip and chic.

From local bloggers, photographers, designers, styles and consuming admirers, the room was filled with lively and colorful patrons of Personal style.

The showroom 77 was an ideal location for this event. it created the perfect networking and social setting to mingle with everyone. With creative give away , chic appetizers, the food was as colorful as were the make up of people.

Like most of my days around merchandise, I try to leave the event without the urge to add to my collection at home.  As I walked, I tried to talk myself out of having to buy out of lust. But heck, its 2012 and i should know better ...ha.

I did fall for these red sphere earrings wrapped in a gold branchlike web.   I cant wait to wear them! im excited to see what threads i could accessories them with... hmmm and i did purchase a pink and gold teardrop earring.  Okay okay that was it.  Fingers crossed, I promise  ;-)

What a  Fun a purchase...

At an Shop a La'mode mocktail party, I added this lovely dress to my collection. Not only was I excited  about my new purchases, but I enjoy the experience of hosting a Pop UP Shop.

At the Pop Up Shop, there was great guest, appetizers, lite cocktails and fashionably fun games.
The convenience of having a small boutique come to your home, JUST for You and a few of your closest friends, was priceless.  We were presented with beautiful, contemporary, and fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories.
All one of a kind and ALL affordable !
