Autumn Dress

….the sister- friend of the Maxi dress

Us girls love our Maxi dresses; and even more so during our summer and spring days. But when the fall season rolls around , we reluctantly put them away with all the rest of our super cute summer sundresses.

What I have found to be useful in purchasing a Maxi dress, is considering its multiple purpose styling options.
Can it can cross over into the genre of seasons?

Typical most Maxi dresses are multicolored and vibrant, giving its appeal for the cooler and hotter days of the year. However, if you make a note to own a maxi dress(s) that is a vibrant, solid in color, and complimentary to the bust, you can easily recycled them in to your wardrobe for the fall season. I joking like to referrer to this fashion adjustment as the Autumn dress…the sister- friend of the Maxi dress.

Here is my take of few alternations you can make to your Maxi dress to incorporate into your winter wear.

Orange maxi dress: Target
Brown cotton tee: H&M
Green Scarf: 5 Below
Brown wedge: Bakers
Jean Jacket: made by a friend…

Navy Blue Maxi dress: Old Navy
Black & Gray Sweater: H&M
Black knew boots: BGBG

Tip: Simple &  quick adjustments to your dress can change your look completely.

Turn your dress into a Skirt ... add a large statement piece ... Tie a knot in any of your long dress .... It’s the little things that matter ;-)

Walk the Talk 2012 Event

What a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon,  walking and talking about personal style. Invited by fellow bloggers, the event brought bloggers and fashion insiders together to network and share knowledge. The crowd was lively and colorful. The Walk the talk 2012 event on Saturday afternoon was hosted by Young Hip and chic.

From local bloggers, photographers, designers, styles and consuming admirers, the room was filled with lively and colorful patrons of Personal style.

The showroom 77 was an ideal location for this event. it created the perfect networking and social setting to mingle with everyone. With creative give away , chic appetizers, the food was as colorful as were the make up of people.

Like most of my days around merchandise, I try to leave the event without the urge to add to my collection at home.  As I walked, I tried to talk myself out of having to buy out of lust. But heck, its 2012 and i should know better ...ha.

I did fall for these red sphere earrings wrapped in a gold branchlike web.   I cant wait to wear them! im excited to see what threads i could accessories them with... hmmm and i did purchase a pink and gold teardrop earring.  Okay okay that was it.  Fingers crossed, I promise  ;-)

Falling

I am very much a Summer Baby. Sun and Fun are like my closet friends. I’d like to enjoy their company all year round, but that isn't my reality. I reside on the east coast.

Everything must change; and so it IS with the weather…

The Fall is upon us!  It’s come to visit. Like some holiday guests, its lingered around long after a  holiday visit.   The seasons are-a- changing. And though I've fought it since the Autumnal Equinox, today is the day I officially welcome the Fall.

Scarf, Leather jacket, Long-sleeved ribbed cotton shirt, Kelly Green A-line skirt,  and Boots, I've seen my shadow.

… I’ve Fallen for you.

there's Color in my Jeans

I am a girl that is crazy about her blue jeans.... One of my Fav piece of clothing to wear; and part of my favorite outfit to wear. You can catch me in a white tank and ripped jeans, all day;every day. .. if it were a uniform, i'd be set.

I strayed form my norm and decided to give it a go, find a pair of colored jeans and make them work for me! I found the perfect one and without even looking. This pair of purple Old School jeans fit great and the price couldn't be beat. With the worn ripped look and feel, they were perfect.
I paired it was black fitted formal T with lace embellishments on the back and my BCBG above the knee-high boots. I limited my accessories to a hill of silver and liquorish colored bangles....i was set.

This is one of those outfits that goes down in my wardrobe archive as comfy yet stylish, and worth the buck!

Loved'em...So I couldn't Leave'em

I am loving my new pair of knee-high boots. The one thing that i was looking for in a pair of boots, was style and comfort. I know that i wanted to adopt this fad into my wardrobe, and for that reason alone, it had to be worth it.

And in my search in the battle between comfort & style, I stumbled across this pair of BCBG knee-high boots! And of all places Ross. These boots fit and looked great. Soft suede for flexibility and height, a wedge for comfort and wear; this was the boots! I loved'em so i couldn't leave'em

A true fashionista's proudly shares their deals and finds, so I must admit being a bargain shopper made me into a Rossnista; hmmm...wait is that a word? if not, lets make it one for today. I think my mother had in my Ross stores before they has commericals.lol. And though the commericals aren't what keeps be visiting Ross, its just a great place to find brands at a reasonable lower price.
