Color & Eclecticism

Some of the best finds are when you aren't even looking...

I wondered over to the Kohl's accessory clearance rack, and
I found this cute little earring & necklace set.

It was the perfect add of color & eclecticism !  I pair this very neat find with an all black ensemble and leopard pattern blazer.

Built-in Accessories

I love clothes that are multipurpose!
What I love about this blouse is that my accessories are already built in. There  is   a cluster of pearls neatly stitches along the neckline.
For a causal workday, I wanted to be comfortable and chic. This Steven Madden blouse does just that. It can be easily dressed-Up with the perfect skirt or slacks; however, it looks  great with a pair of jeans!

Bamboo Earrings

Bombarded with the images of plastics, nips, tucks, glitz and glam; even the most popular person desires a day of anonymity. Our young females should know that beauty is not depicted by the things you adorn yourself with, instead it’s in the beauty of the soul.  You can’t dress- up Your soul nor can you make-up Your character. Never feel the pressure to mask who you are, find comfort in every fiber of Your being.

One of the most venerable comments would be referred to as the girl next door. Most people may think that being described as the girl next door is a frumpy connotation and reflection. Ironically even the most humble of girls exudes strength beyond her control ...it lies within their Her. The strong attitude, independence, coolness, urban versatility and empowerment by higher education, makes her more beautiful than any manufactured attempt at perfection.

Beauty is community minded and confident about her destiny. Charm, fearlessness, and aptitude are indicative to her personal style. The girl next door enjoys the art of Life and every moment in ITS beauty. She is no slave to her labels, but a diva who knows that carrying a target shopping bag is just as fabulous as her Tiffany’s.

Lady Love Cool James poetically rapped about his wish to be loved by the girl next door in his song “around the way girl”.  And though that song may be dated, the message remains the same.  The Beauty of confidence is more attractive than the woman draped in jewels.

Vintage Earrings

One Saturday on my weekend consignment shop hunt, i stumbled across these Vintage Earrings. It was love at first site...
Since i've relocated, I wanted to check out my local consignment shops as well as surrounding suburban vintage boutiques, to get an idea of the kinds on consignment accessories that were available to me. I have always been a girl that knew how to revamp old pieces and make them new, so its always a joy for me to check on these kinds of shops.

When i saw these earring, it was too simple, they were a must have! They were simply made gold hoop earrings with a Zebra charme dangling. When I took a closer look, i saw the details in the simplicity of the earring...it was as if it were an optical illusion.

Front view, the Zebra charm appeared as one piece, but at horizontal view, it was actually 3 individual piece separated by golds balls, which made up the One Zebra.

Best part about this Saturday hunt...i was able to bargain down to $5 bucks !
That Saturday was a good day.
Vintage love'em...had to hav'em !

Embracing the Beauty of the Brim

The Perfect Sun hat:
First lets all come to the grips with the myth that are hats are only for special occasions; church, funerals,
the Kentucky Derby, and the most common of them all, on bad hair days. And if those things aren’t happening everyday personally, then most people shy away from experimenting with hats. But don’t let it!
Let’s embrace the beauty of the brim!
Say it with me “Hats can be fun.” The right hat can make the key accessory to accenting the beauty of a garment/outfit. Hats are your friends. Let’s not mistreat , dismiss or treat them like some lane stepchild; only introducing them as need be (those bad hair days).
You have to make hats a part of your wardrobe family!

For this season, large brimmed hats are great for sunny days, beach, picnic in the park, or long walks.
For those who have to work up to the large hats appetite, try an everyday wear hat that works well with casual pieces of clothes & dresses. Start small with something comfortable in flexible. Try neutral or solid colors that are complimentary to your skin tone.
Also if you see a hat you like (and reasonable prices) buy it! Why? - I encourage that impulse buy for items such as hats; simply because most likely you may not like the hat when trying it on the in store. But when you purchase it and take it home, you will be more comfortable to play with and adjust the hat to your style. It’ll speak to you on how it should be worn. Never wear a hat based on someone else’s style, find the right feel and attitude for the accessories you wear.

Spring for the right Summer accessories

Spring for the right Summer accessories
*Shoes, Shades and Hats*
IT'S a Must to find that pair of shoes that everyone does a double-take whenever you walk by. It should entice people to ask, “hey, where is she going?!”
That's when you can chuckle to yourself, because like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, these shoes are special. Every walkway is your yellow brick road
So take the time to pick a signature shoe that speaks volume. The more eccentric, the more whimsical of a day you'll experience...
